Welcome to Evalynn and Elizabeth's journal!  We were born on August 31, 2003 at 34 weeks, 5 days gestation.  Our due date was October 7th, so we were a bit over 5 weeks early.  Select the links below to get quickly to the section of your choice.  Thanks for visiting.

Year two has begun.  We are going have fun watching them develop into independent individuals over the coming year.

Many pictures are posted out here.  Prior to posting the pictures, I shrink them down to approximately 300 pixels to save space on the web server (we're only given so much space).  If you're wanting original sized pictures, please email us, letting us know which picture you'd like and we will email the original to you.

March 31, 2005: 1 yr, 212 days (19 months)

Not too much going on.  Lynn has still been extremely clingy and climbing on the couch and coffee table when she's not.  So, Mommy has been busy making sure she's not tumbling over (took a header off the arm of the couch yesterday).  Today, Lynn's refused a nap.

Lizzie has been content playing with very little complaining (until I mention something).

April 7, 2005: 1 yr, 219 days (19 months, 7 days)

The weather has been beautiful here.  Mommy has been out getting the garden cleared out along with weeding the flower beds.

Here's some pictures we took over the last few days.  Mommy is just now getting to post some.  Taking pictures is definitely not as easy as it used to be!

Lynn:

Liz:

We cannot wait for Miss Lynn to fit into her pants!  She walked her pants off (Liz tried to tell her how to keep them up) and then she tried to put them back on. She would shove a leg in and while putting the next leg in, the first one would come out.  She gave up.

April 9, 2005: 1 yr, 221 days (19 months, 9 days)

Happy Birthday Mommy!!!  Mommy got the Bissell Flip-It from Daddy and all us kids.  Here's Lizzie trying it out.  It's really cool.

Lizzie had a little fall and hurt her wrist this morning.  We're keeping our eye on her.

Daddy and Mitzi are making Mommy's cake.  Mommy is going to use her new cake decorating stuff that she got from Grandma Wilson and Aunt Marjorie.

April 11, 2005: 1 yr, 223 days (19 months, 11 days)

Weekends go by so fast when the weather is nice!  We had the Lane's over Saturday night for a cookout.  Daddy made some huge burgers.  The kids had hotdogs.  We tried the girls on whole hotdogs without cutting them up.  They ate them better than when we used to cut them up.

We found out that Liz loves gardening.  She was helping Mommy plant some flower seeds, while Daddy chased Evalynn around the neighborhood and took her to the park.

Last night was the girls' first night in a nightgown.  Lynn's diaper was in Lizzie's crib this morning!  Luckily, there were no accidents.  Tonight, we'll try it with training pants over the diapers.

Liz woke up Saturday afternoon with her hand still hurting.  She was holding her hand up like a sling and showing lots of pain.  Daddy was feeling over her hand and felt something pop.  That's all it took!  She instantly got down and started playing and using her hand like nothing happened.

This morning we went for a walk up town and let them play for a bit since it's supposed to rain the next few days (not complaining...we need rain).

April 13, 2005: 1 yr, 225 days (19 months, 13 days)

We have a new family member!  So far, his name is Nermal.  This picture was taken shortly after Odie introduced himself.

Nermal likes to rest on Mommy's shoulder.  If Nermal is anything like his Daddy, he's going to be a big cat.  Mommy likes big cats!

Nermal has an orange half brother that will be ready in four weeks.  Looks like the perfect Garfield kitty!  He's already the same size as Nermal at 4 weeks old.  We'll have to see what Daddy says.

Here's a better picture of Nermal:

April 14, 2005: 1 yr, 226 days (19 months, 14 days)

Our family hit the news!  We've found about 45 news outlets picking up the article so far across the US and Canada.

Here's a link to one of the sites carrying the article (tried finding one without needing any subscriptions)...

http://www.forbes.com/home/feeds/ap/2005/04/13/ap1944303.html

We only found one newspaper's website in Idaho that included the picture, but it was a paid subscription site.  Here's the picture they sent with the article (looks like Liz is picking her nose!).

Nermal slept at Mommy's head last night.  Mommy made some yarn toys.  Lynn & Liz keep taking them away from the cats (we had Annie playing too).  Here's a picture of Lynn playing with Nermal this morning.

April 17, 2005: 1 yr, 229 days (19 months, 17 days)

Another busy weekend here!  Daddy and brother installed an invisible fence for Odie so he can lounge in the sun without having to be tied up!

Mommy has been busy planting flowers and veggies.  Lizzie was having fun helping Mommy yesterday...

Here's Lynn's first pigtails!!!!!

We had a little (really little) ponytail in Lizzie's hair.  She was too busy dancing when I was taking pictures.

We finally found the girls' first sandals today.  We were trying to find some not completely made of Velcro.  We also had to get them a new pair of sneakers (My Little Pony's...Mommy cannot believe they've brought this back along with Strawberry Shortcake and Holly Hobbie).  They may be able to get a bit more use of the old pairs for use outside.

April 20, 2005: 1 yr, 232 days (19 months, 20 days)

It's been another busy few days here.  The girls have a new friend.  His name is Jeremy Douglas Lane.  He was born Monday afternoon.  His Mommy's water broke Monday morning.  Mommy was Kelly's ride to the hospital and stayed up there to help Kelly's Mom keep an eye on the girls.  Jeremy has 5 big sisters.  We're watching their dog, Fancy.  The girls are having fun playing with her.  Odie also likes having someone to play with (no, we're not getting another dog...cats are much easier!).  They'll be home today.

Nermal has adjusted well.  The girls are starting to play with him.  They do get a few scratches here and there, but nothing bad.  Lynn does have one on her face and Liz has a few on her hand.  Mommy's legs look a lot worse!  The kitties will definitely be de-clawed!

April 22, 2005: 1 yr, 234 days (19 months, 22 days)   I did type something on Wednesday, but didn't post it...look above...

We brought dinner over to the Lane's Wednesday night and everyone else met Jeremy.  Lynn said 'baby' for the first time and tried giving him his binky.  The girls sure love the stairs over there.  Daddy did a lot of chasing down.  Lynn is very quick.

We went to see Uncle John, Aunt Elena and Ephram yesterday!  We had a lot of fun.  Evalynn showed us that she can go down the stairs all by herself on her bottom!  Wow!!!

There's town wide garage sales tomorrow.  It's going to be really cold!

We're going to Arizona in May!  Daddy has a training class in Phoenix.  We decided it would be a great opportunity for a family vacation!  We're leaving on the 15th and will be back around the 22nd.  We're going to see the Grand Canyon on the way back.  The drive probably won't be pretty, but we're sure to have fun!

Must go pry Lynn off the table again!

April 26, 2005: 1 yr, 238 days (19 months, 26 days)   I went to garage sales Friday and Saturday.  The girls got a picnic table (not the good plastic type, but for $2, it will do for this year), bouncy rocking horse, sit n spin, the doll stroller I've been scoping on Ebay for the last year for $1 and plenty of summer play clothes.  I was looking for a sandbox, but couldn't find one.  We're thinking of making our own out of landscape timbers.

The sit n spin is a big hit here!  Dolls and the kitten go for rides too.

Here are the girls doing some reading at the picnic table when Mommy had it in for cleaning.  They love the big board books!

We served the girls chicken legs last night.  Liz loved licking the barbeque sauce off and would say num afterwards.  Lynn didn't like the feel of it.

Lynn is now reaching new heights...the dining room table!
