Welcome to Evalynn and Elizabeth's journal! We were born on August 31, 2003 at 34 weeks, 5 days gestation. Our due date was October 7th, so we were a bit over 5 weeks early. Select the links below to get quickly to the section of your choice. Thanks for visiting.
Year two is almost over. We are going have fun watching them develop into independent individuals over the coming year.
Many pictures are posted out here. Prior to posting the pictures, I shrink them down to approximately 300 pixels to save space on the web server (we're only given so much space). If you're wanting original sized pictures, please email us, letting us know which picture you'd like and we will email the original to you.

30 more days until birthday #2!
Friday night, Mommy ran over her big toe with the dishwasher and we've been taking full advantage of it!
The toe is not pretty. It's all bruised now and the nail is cut down the middle along with a cut at the top of the toe. Daddy said Mommy did quite a number to it.
Evalynn has an appointment at the Very Low Birthweight Clinic on August 11th (also Mommy & Daddy's 5th anniversary). They have speech and occupational specialists check her out to make sure she's developing well.
We're leaving Friday afternoon for Minnesota to see Grandma & Grandpa Jerry. We'll be back sometime Wednesday evening (Aug 10th).
August 5, 2005: 1 yr, 339 days (23 months, 5 days)
Here's pictures we took last night.

We're leaving this afternoon for Minnesota to see Grandma and Grandpa Jerry. We'll be back Wednesday night.
August 11, 2005: 1 yr, 345 days (23 months, 11 days)
We're back! We had a great time at Grandpa & Grandma Jerry's! We got back around 8:30 last night.
We had to leave by 9:00 this morning to make it for Lynn's appointment at the very low birth weight clinic in Urbana. Mommy and Daddy overslept, so we had to get ready quickly.
Evalynn checked out good at the clinic. There was a social worker out of the NICU that makes sure we're all ok. She was followed by speech and occupational therapists. The only issue with both girls is their feet. They're both rolling in (more or less really flat feet). That explains why Liz has a wobble to her step and why Lynn walks on her tip toes. We're to put them in supportive shoes with an arch and heel support more often. Lynn's speech is around a 20 month level, which is ok for them. They are recommending a hearing test just to rule that out.
Here's some pictures that I just got together...
Holding hands...

Riding bikes on the newly paved driveway...

They loved the tire swing...

Lynn on her bike...

Checking out Grandma's flowers...

Playing in the dirt...

Tasting Grandpa's yogurt...

Liz playing with Karena...

Liz, Lynn, Karena and Breena... (I'm going to have to get rid of Liz's red-eye)

Loving the trees at a rest area outside of Chetek WI...

August 20, 2005: 1 yr, 354 days (23 months, 20 days)
We're full steam ahead with birthday party preparations! Supplies and decorations were bought yesterday. We have more RSVP's than we thought with the party being on Labor Day weekend.
We went up to Minonk Days both last night and most of today. Daddy was helping hand out free water at the EMS tent.
Kelly Lane came back to the tent with these awesome shirts for the girls' birthday...

Lynn is Twin 1 and Liz is Twin 2.
Mommy went back for enhancements on the back...

August 22, 2005: 1 yr, 356 days (23 months, 22 days)
~9 days until our birthday~
The girls were really wanting to listen to music this morning. I put in one of their kid CD's in. I got them to dance with each other. The pictures are blurry...they were taken quickly.

Our first birthday present arrived while we were napping. Mommy and Danny (They call Dan 'Danny'...drives him nuts since he grew out of Danny a few years ago. He's getting used to it.) put it together. It was all set by the time we woke up. Grandma Willis sent us this awesome picnic table...

Can you tell which one is our ham???

Lynn's really checking things out. In the second picture, she's figuring out if she can get to the other side without getting off. She did figure it out if anyone wondered.

Tomorrow is their first dentist appointment. I'll let you all know the results.
August 23, 2005: 1 yr, 357 days (23 months, 23 days)
~8 days until our birthday~
The dentist appointment went well. Liz is having the bottom tooth fixed tomorrow. He wants to make sure that the nerve was not exposed and wants to fill it in. He's not comfortable pulling the tooth like most dentists would with a child this young. He's worried about what the 2 yr molars would do with the gap that would be left. He was really surprised that she was not showing any signs of the tooth bothering her. We were shocked to be able to get in tomorrow morning since it took us two months to get in. They're having lots of cancellations due to school starting. They both behaved great and did not show signs of being scared. They were made to feel real comfortable. To check inside their mouths he had one of us (mommy) hold them in the chair and then lay them down on our lap. Liz was apprehensive at first. Lynn was laid back even before he was able to change gloves! They even took pictures of each of the girls at their first dentist appointment.

August 30, 2005: 1 yr, 364 days (23 months, 30 days)
~1 day until our birthday~
Sorry it's been a week. Mommy is trying to get ready for the birthday festivities, which also includes a sad attempt at keeping the house clean!
Anyway, things are underway. It looks like we're going to have a good turnout. It is more than we expected with it being Labor Day weekend. More people are sticking around home with these insane gas prices.
Mitzi came home from Wisconsin on Friday. Lynn and Liz have missed big Sister!!! Home schooling has also started on an abbreviated schedule this week. We start full swing next Wednesday. Big Brother's 15th birthday is next Tuesday.
Lynn and Lizzie's 2 yr checkup is also tomorrow. I'll post more tomorrow with their stats and some birthday pictures. Mommy and Mitzi are making cupcakes and the Lane family will be over for a mini-birthday celebration.

August 31, 2005: 2 YEARS OLD!!! (24 months)
~Happy Birthday Evalynn and Elizabeth!!!!!~
Happy Birthday girls! Mommy and Daddy love you very much!!!
Here's some pictures that were taken before we left for the doctor. I'm comparing those to pictures we took the day Evalynn came home.
~Evalynn Kathleen~

~Elizabeth Catherine~

Here's the first picture of them together when Evalynn came home on 9/26/03
Here they are now

The doctor's appointment went great. Lynn let the doctor hold her and let her look out the window. Liz stayed away until he started running the water at the sink. This is the first time that either of them would go to him.
Evalynn weighs 20.5 pounds and is 32.25 inches tall.
Elizabeth weighs 21.5 pounds and is 33.25 inches tall.
Unless they get ill, they won't need to go back to the doctor until they're 3!

Sorry we have not posted since the girls' birthday. Mommy has been really tired.
The party on Saturday went great and we had an excellent turnout! It seems that everyone loved Daddy's burgers! We got lots of nice gifts! We should be set with winter clothes. We got approximately 14 outfits and 10 dolls! Opening presents was a blast! Here are some pictures. Mommy made the birthday cake!

Getting ready for the party

Our Guests

Opening presents!

Eating Cake! Mommy made us sand pail cakes!

Dan with his BIG pail of 'sand'! Happy Birthday Danny (they're the only ones allowed to call him Danny)

Yep, the palm trees wilted.
Here's the girls napping on Labor Day after playing outside

Lynn waking up...LOOK AT THAT HAIR!

Mommy's attempt at getting some cooperation getting pictures taken with their new Cabbage Patch Kids. Lynn cooperated! Liz insisted on playing with the blow up elephant from the circus.

September 10, 2005: 2 years, 10 days
We have a new baby cousin. Kathryn Evanna Willis was born early this morning. Katy weighed in at 7 lbs, 11 oz and was 20 inches long. We went up to meet Cousin Katy. We love babies! The first picture is Mitzi holding Katy (look at all that hair!!!). We're looking over Katy while Daddy is holding her.

September 26, 2005: 2 years, 16 days
Sorry there's been no updates in 15 days! Mommy has been really tired the last couple weeks.
For the most part, it's been the same ol' same ol here. We're enjoying the girls talking lots more. They love looking out the window for Daddy to come home.
Daddy started EMT training just after Labor Day and it goes through December. His certification test is January 10th. Class is on Mondays and Wednesdays. With CAP on Tuesday's, it makes Mommy really tired.
Another reason I don't update much is that my keyboard is not safe. For example, I was just typing with the keyboard on my chest.
I'll post pictures when there is not four extra hands at the keyboard...

We apologize to those that tried to come out here and were redirected to another site. Our domain registration expired for willisland.net. The bad thing is that we paid the bill, but the registration was not sent through.
Here's some pictures we've taken lately...
Here they are opening gifts from Beth & Greg...a purse and rice-filled bunny made by Mayan's in Guatamala. The bunny can be microwaved, which makes them warm and cuddly.

Here's the great big coloring cardboard house that Chris Jenkins bought the girls for their birthday. Her kids, Christal and Kenneth are helping them color. Lynn is inside. They like opening and closing the shutters.

Here's the girls posing for a picture.

All three girls leave for Aunt Marjorie and Uncle Ernie's tomorrow. We pick them up on Oct 8th. Mommy may start sewing their winter pajama's while they're gone.
