Welcome to Evalynn and Elizabeth's journal!  We were born on August 31, 2003 at 34 weeks, 5 days gestation.  Our due date was October 7th, so we were a bit over 5 weeks early.  Select the links below to get quickly to the section of your choice.  Thanks for visiting.

Our third birthday is quickly approaching!  Where did the time go???

Many pictures are posted out here.  Prior to posting the pictures, I shrink them down to approximately 300 pixels to save space on the web server (we're only given so much space).  If you're wanting original sized pictures, please email us, letting us know which picture you'd like and we will email the original to you.

August 1, 2006: 35 months, 1 day

Mommy has been busy sewing again.  Guess where the girls were found earlier??

Liz is still talking our ears off.  Today, she called Lynn by her full name (you know, the name Mom calls you when you've done something bad :) ), "Evalynn Kathleen!".  That floored Mommy!  Now, if you ask her what her name is, she'll say "Elizabeth" or "Lizzie".  Before when asked, she'd say "me".  About three times a day she'll come up and say "My birthday is coming...so is Lynnie's!"  Then, they both go jumping around and get excited.  It's going to be a long month!

Mommy has finished invitations (just hasn't sent them out).  Their main party is going to be at Aunt Marjorie and Uncle Ernie's house up in Beloit.  We'll do some cake and ice cream at home on their birthday.

We're leaving for Minnesota the end of next week for a few days to see Grandpa Jerry.

Here's how Mommy found Liz for a brief time this evening...

August 7, 2006: 35 months, 7 days

Here's a development...we just signed the girls up for PRESCHOOL!  They start on big Brother's 16th birthday (Sept 6th).  It's only two hours a day, three days a week, but that's plenty for their age!  Can you believe they're preschoolers???

August 21, 2006: 35 months, 21 days

We spent a few days with Grandma and Grandpa Jerry in Minnesota.  We tried driving overnight.  It was too tiring, so we probably won't be doing that again.  The girls did sleep, but not well.

We're 10 days from being 3!  We're having a party at Aunt Marjorie and Uncle Ernie's this Saturday and some cake and ice cream here on the 31st.

Mommy finally took that nasty carpet out of the bathroom last night.  The floor underneath is better than we expected.  We'll eventually lay some linoleum over it, but it will work for now.  Oh, WD-40 takes up tape residue lickety split!

Potty training is going great!  Outside of the occasional accident, most days are dry.  Mommy bought some character panties (Dora, My Little Pony, Disney Princess).  Those seemed to have helped along with the incentive that they have to be trained for school.

The girls have started having nightmares.  Sleeping has been horrible...waking at 2 am, refusing to sleep, no naps and being extra crabby.  They seem to argue more with each other.  All this is making Mommy extra crabby.  We hope they grow out of this phase quickly or Mom will go insane!  Preschool is looking more attractive every day!

That's about all going on here.

At some point over the next month, we'll be changing web hosts.  The website address will be the same, but if you happen to stop by and get an error while we're switching, don't worry.  Just keep trying.

August 31, 2006: 3 YEARS OLD!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LYNN & LIZ!!!!

Where did the time go?  It seems like yesterday we were touching you for the first time.

They had a birthday party last Saturday at Aunt Marjorie and Uncle Ernie's house (the picture above was taken there).  Tonight, we had Grandpa Willis, Uncle John, Aunt Elena, Ephram and Katy over for dinner and cake.

We had a busy day.  We had doctor appointments this morning (click here to see stats).  That went well.  The doctor wants Lynn's eyes checked again.  No shots until next year.  This was the first time they had to pee in a cup.  Daddy said they did great (like they've done it before).  They didn't like getting their finger poked to check for anemia.

Then, we went to Toys R Us and got to push the birthday carts and went to Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch.  They  announced Happy Birthday's over the PA.

Mommy is still going through the pictures and will post them soon.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!

Happy Birthday Dan!!!

Emotional day for Mommy...  Here's first day of school pictures!

And, here's what did it in for Mommy...

They both were crying by the time Mitzi and Mommy left... They did great!

AND... DAN HAS A DRIVER'S LICENSE!!!  He passed his driving test bright and early this morning (first one's into the DMV).  To celebrate, he's been job hunting.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANNY!!!!

Yeah, Mommy still needs to post birthday pictures...

September 26, 2006: 3 years, 26 days

Sorry there's been no updates lately.  We've been really busy.

Mommy's been cleaning summer clothes out of closets and trying to organize our room (it doesn't last long with the demolition crew right behind).  Mommy ran a garage sale and sold some of the toys.

School has been great!  Liz cried the first few days and then finally said "Mommy, I won't cry for you yet."  Mommy told her to be brave and no more tears since!  They go right in, put their backpacks away and join the group.  The teacher is amazed on how well they're doing for their age.  She is actually amazed at the whole three year old class, saying that when comparing them to the four year old class; they're more manageable and listen better.  They go on their first fieldtrip to the pumpkin patch next week.

Mommy has joined the ambulance squad.  She's driving the ambulance and helping out until she gets into the EMT-Basic class in the spring.  Daddy is enjoying his EMT-Intermediate class and is about to start his hospital clinicals this weekend.

Speaking of Daddy, he's going in for surgery on Oct 24th to have a bunch of things fixed (we'll spare you the details).  It will help Daddy breathe and sleep better.  He'll be out of work at least two weeks.

Dan's now a McEmployee...yep he's working at McDonalds!  He started yesterday.  By the end of yesterday, they had him on the grill by himself.

That's about it from here...

Here's those long awaited pictures...better late than never!!!

Party at Marjorie & Ernie's...

Swimming after the party...

New bikes...

Dora cake #2...

how we were able to put the bikes together.  It was a busy birthday doing doctor's visits, invading Toys R Us and birthday lunch.

We were experiencing problems with the camera, so some of the pictures didn't turn out (Mommy still needs to figure out that digital camera)...these were the best pictures.
