Evalynn & Elizabeth's Journal-Year Two Has Begun!

Welcome to Evalynn and Elizabeth's journal! We were born on August 31, 2003 at 34 weeks, 5 days gestation. Our due date was October 7th, so we were a bit over 5 weeks early. Select the links below to get quickly to the section of your choice. Thanks for visiting.

Year two has begun. We are going have fun watching them develop into independent individuals over the coming year.

December 31, 2004: 1 yr, 121 days (16 months) Lynn cut a tooth Wednesday. Both girls have 7 teeth.

We bought potty chairs yesterday. We'll have them sit around for a while before attempting any potty training. I'm not sure if I like the one's we selected, but they'll have to do.

Here's the picture from last Sunday of the girls sleeping in the same crib together.

She used the yellow chair to climb up on the chair. She had that proud 'big girl' look to her and actually posed for the pictures.

Check out this big hug the girls gave each other yesterday. They also gave each other a kiss. So cute!

We went to Cousin Ephram's first birthday party Sunday night. It was lots of fun! These kids are getting so big so fast!

We got a couple inches of snow Friday night. Mommy and Daddy bought a sled yesterday. We figured we better hurry and get the girls out while the snow is still there. Mitzi and Jordan pulled the girls. Liz preferred to lay back. Lynn didn't like it in front. Actually, we don't think Lynn likes it in the snowsuit. Liz giggled the entire ride! Lynn didn't. Next year we probably won't be able to get them back in the house!

Here's another story of our girls growing up... The girls were sitting at their table for dinner tonight. Daddy, Mommy and Mitzi sat down at the table to eat. Liz got up from the table and refused to eat. We couldn't figure it out. She was doing fine until we sat down. Come to find out, she wanted to sit with us to eat. Lynn ate fine at their table (she's in a growth spurt, so she's been cleaning her plate lately). When Mommy finished her dinner, she sat Liz down at her chair. She finished the rest of her dinner. So, she was telling us that she wants to eat like us. She's even figuring out how to use her fork!

Lynn wanted to sit at the big table to finish her apple. We're going to need a larger table and six chairs soon!

We took them to CAP last night. Wow, these two are sure active! Lynn was showing off her new walking feet. Liz was going in the opposite direction! This was one tired Mommy! We took the girls' new wagon with. They went on lots of wagon rides. They loved it! Liz was saying whee! I meant to take the camera, but left it at home.

January 19, 2005: 1 yr, 140 days (16 months, 19 days) Sorry it's been a week. Lynn, Liz, Mommy and Daddy all have colds. Just wanted to let you know that we haven't dropped off the face of the earth!

January 20, 2005: 1 yr, 141 days (16 months, 20 days) Mommy must be feeling better. The extra bed that was primarily used as a changing station was taken down today and replaced with the girls' kitchen, washer/dryer, doll highchair and cradles. Mommy is trying to get the room to be kid friendly.

They spent a lot of time playing in there tonight. Liz brought out the doll in the carrier and showed us that she can rock the baby.

Liz signed "more cookie" for us tonight! Her new word is "arm". When I put her pj's on, I always tell her to put her arm in. Lynn's newest is "thank you" and "here". She always brings us plates and cups when they are empty.

Here are all four kids together playing! They were throwing the tennis ball to each other.

Here's a great shot of Lynn in motion. Come to find out, that smirk was a "I didn't do it" look. That piece of rubber she's carrying is the dial pad from one of their toy phones.

Liz was really tired tonight. All that cleaning makes for one tired girl! She laid the pillows to the floor and plopped her head down.

January 26, 2005: 1 yr, 147 days (16 months, 26 days) Uncle John, Aunt Elena and Cousin Ephram came for a visit today. All three kids ate at the big kid table.
