Welcome to Evalynn and Elizabeth's journal!  We were born on August 31, 2003 at 34 weeks, 5 days gestation.  Our due date was October 7th, so we were a bit over 5 weeks early.  Select the links below to get quickly to the section of your choice.  Thanks for visiting.

Year two has begun.  We are going have fun watching them develop into independent individuals over the coming year.

Many pictures are posted out here.  Prior to posting the pictures, I shrink them down to approximately 300 pixels to save space on the web server (we're only given so much space).  If you're wanting original sized pictures, please email us, letting us know which picture you'd like and we will email the original to you.

Finally, Mommy has given us a new page for July!  How patriotic!

We're on vacation, leaving tomorrow morning and coming back on July 8th.  Happy Independence Day from all of us!

July 9, 2005: 1 yr, 312 days (22 months, 9 days)

We got home yesterday!  We had a great time.  Here's some pictures.

With Great Grandpa Gass

Liz and Great Aunt Mary

Lynn and Great Aunt Patti

Playing at Pottawatomie Park

At Lake Michigan

Airplane spotting

Discovering Lynn can climb out of Pack N Play's just to sleep with her sister.  Liz does not look thrilled.

There are a few more pictures that need to come off the camera.

We found that the girls love the old wooden potty chairs.  Great Grandma is letting us borrow the one she picked up at a garage sale.  I found an identical one on eBay last night.

Mommy went up to Grandma Wilson's this afternoon and picked up our new bed.  It's a bunk bed with a full size bottom bunk.  We only set up the bottom bunk for now.  So, away with the cribs and in with the big girls bed!  Mommy took a peek in to see if they were still in bed.  We need to get another rail.  They both fell asleep within a half hour and never got out of bed!  We hope that continues!  I did move Liz over  a bit before taking the second picture.  She made me nervous.  Liz actually has both pillows in the first picture.

In hindsight, we probably should have left them in one crib instead of splitting them up into two cribs.  When sleeping together, they fall asleep at their own pace and no matter how hard they try, they don't wake each other up.  If one started crying or cried herself to sleep, it never woke the other up either.

Keeping the girls in bed has been an adventure.  But, they do know that they go into bed to go to sleep.  We kind of gave up putting them in last night.  When we checked on them when they quieted down, they were both asleep in bed.  Here's what Liz looked like...

Yes, she's wearing her flip-flops.

Now, we're trying to get through nap time.

July 12, 2005: 1 yr, 315 days (22 months, 12 days)

I'm loving the sleeping pictures.  Here they are tonight...

Here's a potty picture...They're watching Teletubbies.

Here's Liz showing some crack...These are 18 month shorts.  It looks like they'll fit next year too.  She cannot keep them pulled up.  She actually posed for this picture.  There's no diaper or panties on.

I'm having problems keeping pants on these two.  I'm following them around with the Swiffer to take care of the accidents.  I'm so glad we do not have carpet!

I'm starting to make changes to the guestbook to help against guestbook spam.  If you had a bookmark to the guestbook, you'll need to change it.  The links to the guestbook is above and below.  If you just click these sign guestbook links, you do not have to do anything.

There's an application that's going to check the authenticity of an entry, so the processing may seem different or take a bit longer than the last time you entered something.  That is, once I get it figured out.

Big Brother started corn detasseling on Monday.  He's not used to getting up at 5 am!

July 26, 2005: 1 yr, 329 days (22 months, 26 days)

Been really busy here...sorry for the lack of updates.  I still don't have the guestbook issue completely resolved.  It may require installing different software on the webserver.

Dan's detasseling only lasted 5 days.  The crops are so bad here, they stopped all detasseling.  It was not worth continuing.  He's bummed.

The girls have kept Mommy busy.  Lynn is really into potty training and will typically stay dry if she has training pants on.  She pottied for us nine times yesterday.  She poopied this morning for Mommy!  It was just really good timing on Mommy's part, but she got two sticker in that box on her chart!  Liz is observing :).  She comes to us after the fact, which is usually a minute or two after spending several minutes on the potty.  She joins in on all of the excitement from Lynn.  There's lots of waving and giggles when potty goes bye-bye (flushed).

We finally received the wooden potty chair off Ebay yesterday.  It took over two weeks after the auction end.

It has been so hot.  It got up to 104 on Sunday and 101 yesterday.  The heat and humidity really has Mommy dragging.  there's supposed to be cooler air moving through later today.  I'd really like to give the a/c a rest.

July 28, 2005: 1 yr, 331 days (22 months, 28 days)

Lynn and Liz met a new friend today.  We went to Decatur and met Emma.  She's the daughter of Julie, who I met off a local web group.  We bought some clothes that don't fit Emma anymore.  Emma turned two in March (I think).  Emma called the girls 'Ladies'...I thought that was so cute!  Here's a couple pictures of the three playing.

Evalynn is sporting a pair of Dora slippers that we bought.  She loves wearing them!
