Welcome to Evalynn and Elizabeth's journal! We were born on August 31, 2003 at 34 weeks, 5 days gestation. Our due date was October 7th, so we were a bit over 5 weeks early. Select the links below to get quickly to the section of your choice. Thanks for visiting.
Year two has begun. We are going have fun watching them develop into independent individuals over the coming year.
Many pictures are posted out here. Prior to posting the pictures, I shrink them down to approximately 300 pixels to save space on the web server (we're only given so much space). If you're wanting original sized pictures, please email us, letting us know which picture you'd like and we will email the original to you.

February 28, 2005: 1 yr, 181 days (17 months, 28 days)
Daddy made it home ok on Friday. The girls were so happy to see Daddy!
Mommy's start of spring is the first of March. So yesterday all the snowmen/winter decorations came down.
The colds seem to be going away. We're down to runny noses and very little cough. We go to the doctor for our 18 month checkup on Friday. No shots this time, but we do have to be pricked for iron testing. Then we hopefully won't have to go back until we're two! Mommy is going to consider Wednesday as our 18-month birthday...maybe she'll make us cake!
Mommy got gutsy yesterday and let us paint with Mitzi and Danielle. It was fun and we got to splash in the tub afterwards!

Mommy made us pillow cases for our new pillows last night out of the same fabric as our valance and curtains. We love it! We take our pillows around the house with us.
March 3, 2005: 1 yr, 184 days (18 months, 1 day)
We're counting yesterday as the girls' 18-month birthday! Wow! a year and a half old! Mommy is all sentimental!
I think we've made the switch to one nap a day. The girls have been playing really good together. Usually, where one goes, the other follows. It is so cute! They have been so happy lately!
They're also starting to put things away (sometimes) and will take simple instructions. They really love playing with Odie and the cats. They can say 'Odie' and 'Kitty'.
Latest tooth count: Lynn-11, Liz-12
We're anxious to see what the girls' stats are. We're guessing Liz is about 22 lbs and Lynn may be 20. We'll see how close we are.
March 4, 2005: 1 yr, 185 days (18 months, 2 days)
We're back from the doctor's appointments. The girls got to be weighed standing up on the big people's scale today, so the weights were not as accurate as they usually are (they'd only stand there for a split second.
Lynn weighed in at 18 lbs and measured 30.5 inches. (she held onto the scale). We weighed her at home last week and she weighed around 19 lbs, which is a bit more accurate. She's still below the 3rd percentile for weight, but is 12% for height. Doc said that most babies make up their weight by the time they're two. If not, they'll probably always be on the small side. Dan and Mitzi were small too, so we're not worried about it.
Liz weighed 21 lbs and measured 31 inches. That's about what Liz weighed on the scale at home. Liz is 12% for weight and 25% for height.
They got their middle fingers poked for TB, lead and iron tests. Their iron levels came back good. We won't find out about their lead/tb tests for a couple weeks...we'll only get called if those show abnormal levels.
Their next appointment is on their 2nd birthday (easy to remember).
We're going out to dinner tomorrow night to celebrate Daddy's birthday, which is Monday. Then Sunday, Daddy is getting baptized!
March 6, 2005: 1 yr, 187 days (18 months, 4 days)
It's been a great weekend here. The girls spent a lot of time outside. They love playing in their house. They can both get in and out of the cozy coupe by themselves. Liz can crawl into their convertible. Lynn still requests to be lifted in. We also walked up and down the sidewalk. It was up to 70 today, so we got a spring teaser.
We went out to eat last night. No matter where we go, we always have someone commenting on how well behaved the girls are.
We all watched Daddy get baptized today. It was a special day for him.
Mommy got this picture of us in her computer chair this evening...

It is so hard for her to get a good picture of us together anymore! We'll be trying Easter pictures soon. They may have to be taken in the chair!
Mommy framed our paintings from last Sunday and hung those on the wall in the dining room above our table. That corner may turn into the wall o' art!
March 7, 2005: 1 yr, 188 days (18 months, 5 days)
Happy Birthday Daddy!!!
We had the girls do a little art project this morning for Daddy. He'll get to see it when he gets home from work.
Lynn has been dry all day so far! Liz had a dry night Saturday night!
March 11, 2005: 1 yr, 192 days (18 months, 9 days)
Mommy has been busy getting six costumes together for the Easter program at church. Tuesday we all went fabric shopping. Wednesday we had lunch with Daddy and had to do more shopping. Mommy only gets to sew during nap times and at bed time. So, time is limited. Mommy will eventually post on the costumes off her website.
Tonight we're going to dinner at John and Elena's. It's been a while since the kids have been together.
Better go so we can finish getting ready...
March 15, 2005: 1 yr, 196 days (18 months, 13 days)
Another round of colds here again. This is getting real old! Mommy is beginning to believe they may be from germ infested shopping carts. The colds usually begin within a week of shopping. So, the next project after the costumes are done will be shopping cart covers.
March 24, 2005: 1 yr, 205 days (18 months, 22 days)
The colds are still here...it's been hard to type with girls clung to your lap! The last couple days have been extremely rough. Lynn has been extra clingy. She has an eye tooth coming in.
Lots of new words here...duck, potty, boo, beep-beep, Mitzi and probably more I can't remember.
Mommy has the costumes done...click here to go to the projects page (then Easter Costumes) to see the costumes being modeled...
We haven't taken too many pictures this month...who want's to see snotty noses, right? Here's a few...
This picture is of the both of them sitting in one of their rocking chairs together and not pushing each other out!

Liz loves hats! She spends a good part of the day with a hat on...

The hat doesn't have to be on right to please her. It just has to be on her head!
Sorry about the red eye. I may fix that if I get some time.
We don't have many pictures of Lynn...Hard to take them if she's clung to the photographer!
HOUSTON, we're using spoons!!!! They've been working on it for a while, but today was the first time they didn't hold the spoon with one hand while feeding themselves with the other!

A photographer with the Associated Press just left here. A story is being written up about our Internet Phone service. There was an issue over us using too many minutes for an unlimited plan (no limits were mentioned in their terms and conditions) and the company we're going through threatened to switch us to a limited business plan as of April 1st. I posted a question on the issue to a message board and an AP reporter out of California saw it and contacted us for an interview. We never thought that this issue would make national news!
Lynn and Liz loved getting their pictures taken. There were shots taken of all of us and separate shot s of Dan and Mitzi using the phone. Evalynn was on Mitzi's lap while she was on the phone. This has been interesting!
Due to all the publicity this one post created, the Broadband Phone company said that we would not be switched to the business plan and they have no problems with our usage. This issue went all the way to the CEO of the company.
We'll post more information on the article once we know more...it looks like it will go out sometime next week.
March 29, 2005: 1 yr, 210 days (18 months, 27 days)
We hope everyone had a nice Easter! We had a great Easter, even with most of us down with this latest cold! We got to see the costumes Mommy made in action. The Easter program went great. After Church, we came home to hunt for the plastic eggs Mommy stuffed with goodies. Lynn and Liz had so much fun. They each received a little wagon with bucket, shovels and other plastic toys.
We spent lots of time outside yesterday. Jordan and Mitzi took Lynn and Liz for a walk in their wagon. They didn't want to get out!
Lynn finally achieved getting onto the couch all by herself this morning. She's been trying for the last week or two. Now, she tries getting onto the stereo next to the couch. They have both figured out how to get off the couch by themselves.
There's been lots of new words lately...Sunday, Liz showed us three new words....shoe, hey, and outside.
Better get lunch ready...
