Welcome to Evalynn and Elizabeth's journal! We were born on August 31, 2003 at 34 weeks, 5 days gestation. Our due date was October 7th, so we were a bit over 5 weeks early. Select the links below to get quickly to the section of your choice. Thanks for visiting.
Can you believe we're into year three?! We are going have fun watching them develop into independent individuals over the coming year.
Many pictures are posted out here. Prior to posting the pictures, I shrink them down to approximately 300 pixels to save space on the web server (we're only given so much space). If you're wanting original sized pictures, please email us, letting us know which picture you'd like and we will email the original to you.

October 1, 2005: 25 months
The girls left for WI on Thursday. Hopefully someone will send Mommy some pictures. I think they were going to the pumpkin patch either last evening or today.
SEND MOMMY PICTURES!!!
October 3, 2005: 25 months, 2 days
I spoke with Aunt Marjorie last night. Everything is going well. Thursday night there was an issue with the nightlight and the girls woke up screaming. Mental note: Don't use one of those tap lights as a nightlight unless you want to get up several times a night to change the batteries! Nice concept if they can figure out how to keep it from eating batteries or can make one that's powered. It does put off a soft glow.
Nobody brought a digital camera to the pumpkin patch. Marjorie has to get pictures developed and Aunt Patty will scan pictures and email them.
Mommy got the dining room floor scrubbed Saturday. It took almost four hours to do. That's one of those things that's hard to do when Lynn and Liz like practicing their sliding techniques on the wet floor. Freaks Mommy out!
Dan and Ashley went to Ashley's homecoming dance Saturday night. Mommy did Ashley's hair.

MOMMY IS STILL WAITING FOR PICTURES *hint, hint*!!!!!!! :(
Mommy did more cleaning yesterday. Mommy still needs to clean your bedroom along with finishing up the nightgowns she's making.
October 6, 2005: 25 months, 5 days
Aunt Patty finally sent Mommy some pictures...

Mommy finished the nightgowns yesterday (except for putting buttons on). Now, lets hope they fit.

Mommy also made six placemats for the dining room table and did some mending last night.
Today, Mommy is going over to Uncle John and Aunt Elena's.
October 7, 2005: 25 months, 6 days
Mommy updated her sewing and gardening pages this morning.
Mommy thinks it may be safe to switch out the summer clothes. She's still going to keep a few warm weather clothes around. Indian Summer has not made an appearance yet. So, Mommy is heading into your bedroom. She needs to find a spot for the cardboard house (no Chris, it has not been destroyed yet!). We were thinking about adding the top bunk to the bed. But, Mommy is afraid of the climbers in you, even with the ladder not on.
We go to pick you up tomorrow!!!! Mommy, Daddy, 'Danny', Odie and the cats all miss you. Ok, maybe not Annie...she's still grumpy.
Off to your room...
October 8, 2005: 25 months, 7 days
Mommy got the closet cleaned out yesterday. We also decided to put the top bunk on before we lost any parts. You won't be sleeping up there for a few more years. It will probably be used to keep your stuffed animals contained.

We're leaving in a bit to pick you up. We really missed you!!!!
October 19, 2005: 25 months, 18 days
NOTE: THE GUESTBOOK HAS BEEN REMOVED!!!! Thanks to guestbook spam, it is not worth the time to maintain. There were approximately 7 spam hits just this morning alone and we've been averaging 4 attacks a day. If anyone has any comments, feel free to email us.
Grandma Willis went home yesterday. She spent some time at Uncle John's and a few days here. She'll be back for Christmas.
Saturday, we went to a little fall fun park just north of El Paso. Liz had fun getting us lost in the corn maze. They also liked the animals. We bought our pumpkins there.
Mommy bought costumes yesterday. We were going to have bumble bee and lady bug costumes made, but the price was right on the respective costumes. Neither girl will put them on.
We attempted some potty training this morning. We almost floated out of the living room! Liz is making some headway. She's gone about 6 times on the potty just this morning.
Pictures will be posted as soon as there's time.
I'm back with some pictures...
Here's some from Saturday...

These are from tonight...figured we'd better get these done before it gets too cold. I did some cropping and playing with black & white.

October 29, 2005: 25 months, 28 days
Today is potty training day 11!!! It looks like we've got quite the system going. Tuesday and Wednesday nights were dry nights. Getting them out of their own room is tricky as they start playing quietly when they first wake up. It's most likely in an effort to not wake anyone up. Mommy is trying to get up now before they do. We had a dry trip to Bloomington yesterday. We were gone over 3 hours. Pull-ups were put on just in case. Mommy was not yet ready to do panties. They have very few accidents anymore. So, we keep plugging away.
Here's a cute picture of Lynn. It looks like we're needing to move the magazine rack into the bathroom!

Mommy's had a cold the last week. We're all hoping that nobody else gets it. Other than that and Mommy trying to work ahead with Mitzi and Dan's assignments, there's not too much going on. We may try to carve pumpkins later today or tomorrow after returning from Wisconsin. We're going up for the day. Great-Great Aunt Carol will be in Beloit visiting Great-Grandma Howe and we're having dinner at Aunt Marjorie's.
October 30, 2005: 25 months, 29 days
Today went great! Both girls do amazingly well pottying away from home! We had lots of fun! The girls and Daddy met relatives they have not met before and Mommy, Danny and Mitzi haven't seen in years (Mitzi was a baby).
Right after we got home, we started carving pumpkins. While Mommy was finding patterns, she found something that mentioned to cut the pumpkins out from the bottom instead of the top. We learned that it takes at least half the time out of cleaning the pumpkins. The mess was also considerably less. The pumpkins also easier to light and you don't need to worry about the top caving in. It worked great. We also thought the girls wouldn't like messing with the insides. They loved it! They had a blast cleaning out the pumpkins and helped us carve. Here's the pictures...
Digging in...

Lynn helping Daddy carve her pumpkin. Liz is admiring her finished pumpkin (she helped Mommy carve earlier).

Finished products...

All lit up (sorry it's blurry)

With Mitzi's carved pumpkin (Dan is still working on his masterpiece)

All three girls after lighting the pumpkins. Lynn didn't like the rain. Liz put on Daddy's cap.

We're going to attempt some Trick or Treating tomorrow night. We're not sure how long it will last.
October 31, 2005: 26 months
We finally coaxed the girls into their costumes. Mommy made tote bags for all three girls. The bags worked out. It rained, which soaked everything. We went about two complete blocks around here.
Here's pictures...
