Welcome to Evalynn and Elizabeth's journal!  We were born on August 31, 2003 at 34 weeks, 5 days gestation.  Our due date was October 7th, so we were a bit over 5 weeks early.  Select the links below to get quickly to the section of your choice.  Thanks for visiting.

How can we be three already???  It seems like yesterday!

Many pictures are posted out here.  Prior to posting the pictures, I shrink them down to approximately 300 pixels to save space on the web server (we're only given so much space).  If you're wanting original sized pictures, please email us, letting us know which picture you'd like and we will email the original to you.

Here's those long awaited pictures...better late than never!!!

Party at Marjorie & Ernie's...

Swimming after the party...

New bikes...

Dora cake #2...

how we were able to put the bikes together.  It was a busy birthday doing doctor's visits, invading Toys R Us and birthday lunch.

We were experiencing problems with the camera, so some of the pictures didn't turn out (Mommy still needs to figure out that digital camera)...these were the best pictures.

We got the girls screened yesterday for Bright Beginnings.  It's a preschool for those that may need some special attention.  Lynn's speech has been beginning to worry us and felt she at least needed screened.  Lynn's screening did show some issues and is being forwarded for some additional screening.  The advanced screenings start in about a month.  We were surprised on how quick we got in for the initial screening.  I called yesterday afternoon and to our luck there was a screening yesterday in Washburn and they had a couple cancellations.  It usually takes weeks to get in.

The girls are leaving today for a few days at Aunt Marjorie and Uncle Ernie's.

Things are always busy here.  Daddy is as ready as he's going to be for his surgery on Tuesday.  He'll be spending the night at the hospital.  He'll be out of work for at least two weeks.

Mommy created a website for the Minonk Ambulance association, which has a section for the public and another for the the members of the squad and association for our schedules and other information.  Feel free to take a peek... www.minonkambulance.org .

The girls are doing well.  Lynn is having her Bright Beginnings screening on November 1st.  We'll find out about her placement following that.  They were thinking that she'd be in within a couple weeks after the screening.  The only thing is we may have the girls in two different preschools for a while.  Liz qualifies for a different section of Bright Beginnings, but there's a waiting list for her.

The girls are doing great in school.  The teacher called this morning.  She mentioned that they had a fireman in to visit the kids yesterday.  Lynn and Liz were fine when he talked to them while in street clothes.  Then he started to get into his gear and she looked over to see Lynn burying her head and then screamed.  Liz immediately followed.  So, the teacher took them out of the room until he was done.  I guess we'll have to visit the fire station to get them over the fear.

Winter and the holidays are coming way too fast.  Why does spring/summer/fall go by so quick and winter seems to go on forever???

I'll post an update after Daddy's surgery...

October 25, 2006: 3 years, 55 days

Daddy's surgery went well.  He had a duel septum deviation fixed, tonsils removed, soft palette and tongue reduction.  They were supposed to do something with his jaw, but decided not to.  Surgery itself only lasted about an hour (it would have lasted 4 hours if he had the jaw work done) and was out of it the rest of the day.  He had a rough night last night and the nurses were less than cooperative.  We finally got home around 4:30 this afternoon.  The physician's assistant didn't come in until 2:30.  Daddy is VERY sore and since his nose is packed, he has to breathe out his mouth, which is not doing his throat any good.  The packing comes out tomorrow morning (icky).

The girls were really careful and helpful when we got home.  Lynn's baby has an 'owie' nose now :).  They want to help do everything with Daddy.  It's cute!

While Daddy was in surgery, Mommy went to her doctors appointment (at the time she made the appointment, she was making plans based on a four hour surgery).  Timing worked out great as the doctor was able to get her in early and just made it back to the surgery waiting room to talk to Daddy's doctor.  Once Daddy is recovered, Mommy goes in to get her gallbladder out.  She has an appointment with the surgeon Monday afternoon.  She's hoping to hold surgery to the week of Nov 13th or after.

Happy Halloween!!!  Mommy is still working on costumes...  We're heading over to a local church tonight where we'll be warm.  They're having hot dogs and rooms with activities.  It should be fun.  I'll hopefully get pictures out later. UPDATE...here's some pics.  Lynn was not being photogenic and ran off.  Liz loves modeling.

Daddy is in a lot of pain, but doing ok.  He goes to the doctor tomorrow to have the stints removed from his nose.

Mommy gallbladder surgery is set up for November 14th.  If all goes to plan, she should only be down for a week.

Mommy is going to be discontinuing this journal and starting a blog format.  You will be able to add comments.  Click here to go to the new journal.  I will be keeping this journal updated through November (posting in both places) while we transition.  Don't worry, we'll still be posting pictures.  This format is going to make it easier to make updates.
