Costumes for
Church Christmas Program
I've made Mary and Joseph
costumes as well as vests for the woodsmen. Here's Mitzi
modeling Mary's costume.

Here's two of the six
vests.

Costumes for
Church Easter Program
I'm in the process of making
costumes for the Church's Easter Program. This is the pattern
I'm working from. I'm making costumes for Mary Magdeline, Jesus,
three Scoffers, and the Roman Solder.

Tuesday, March 15th...I
did the togas for Jesus and the scoffers first along with Mary's shawl
and belt last Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Those didn't
require any fabric tracing, so was easy to do. The patterns were
cut out for the tunics on Saturday and Sunday. I'm currently in
the process of sewing the tunics. I was able to sew two tunics
last night. I'm only able to sew when the girls are in bed.
I hope to get three more tunics done today and tonight.
Wednesday, March 16th...I
got the rest of the tunics done yesterday. So, I officially have
5 of the 6 costumes done. Now, the Roman Solder remains.
That's going to be the most challenging costume.
Wednesday, March 23rd...I
finished the Roman Solder armor and cape on Thursday. I took the
weekend off and started the helmet on Monday, which I finished today.
I am done sewing! Now all that's left to do is to iron all the
costumes. Here's pictures of the completed costumes...Thank you
Michael and Kristan for modeling for me!

Nightgowns for
Lynn & Liz
Oct 2005
It has been so hard to find nice nightgown at
a reasonable cost. So, I was using Simplicity pattern 6446
as a guide. That pattern is actually for two piece pajama's (top
and bottoms). I may eventually do one, but wanted nightgowns
this time. I took the patterns for the front and back of the
shirt down to a desirable level (I used one of their current
nightgowns as a guide).
There's a small strip of
lace down the front (not seen well in the picture) and lace at the
bottom. I ran out of the flowered flannel to do the sleeves, so
I hunted around the house for some solid pink fabric. I believe
it is a fleece, which is thicker than the flannel for the bodice.
Lynn & Liz's arms will be extra warm this winter! I also used
the fleece for along the neckline and for the button hole. I
still need to attach the button, but want to wait until they're home
to try it on to see where I should place the button.

Placemats for
Dining Room Table
Oct 2005
I had some sunflower fabric sitting around.
So I decided to make placemats. I was originally just going to
do a runner, but had enough for six placemats. There was no
pattern used. I took one of the other placemats sitting around
here for a sizing guide. The backside fabric is a gold color.
Most of them are sewn with a zigzag stitch. The first one is a
combo. With cutting, that project only took 2 hours at most.
Some of them may not be straight, but, that's ok. It gives them
that homemade touch.

I also made placemats for
the holiday's...

Costumes for
Church Christmas Program 2005
November 2005
I received orders for more costumes for
Church. Drawings were submitted to me about a month ago. I
started a couple weeks ago after fabric was obtained (THANKS MOM!).
Here they are....I just have one more left...

Christmas
Ornaments/Tree Top
Dec 2005
I wanted pet/kid friendly ornaments since most
of ours are breakable. So, Dan, Mitzi and I have been working on
ornaments. I've also been working on a tree top. The
angels never stayed on anyway. We bought a book... Best of
Dick Martin Christmas, plastic canvas and yarn. Here's a few
of the ornaments and the tree top (yes, we have the tree tied down to
prevent the cats--mainly Nermal--from knocking it down)...

We're
still working on a few more. There's a cute bell that Mitzi
worked on that's come up missing (thank you kitties). We're
still looking around the house for it. My guess is we'll find it
sometime next summer!
